1. What we collect

We take one thing from Google sign-in: the account identifier. Your email, name and profile photo are discarded on arrival.

If you sign up with an ID and password, we store the ID, the password and an email address. The password is stored in a form that cannot be turned back, so we do not know your original password either. The email is taken for one purpose only — recovering your account if you forget your password. We do not send marketing to it and we do not pass it on.

Please note: password reset does not exist yet. We have not yet built the step that confirms an address really belongs to you, and opening reset before that could send mail to someone else's address. Until it is ready, a forgotten password means signing up again.

Signing in with Google collects no email address. What we take differs by sign-in method, and the table above states that difference. An ID also cannot be an email address: a sign-in credential and a contact address are different things, and the program keeps them apart.

We do not receive your card number. The payment window is opened by the payment provider (Toss Payments) itself, and all that reaches us is the fact that a payment succeeded, the amount and the transaction number. When a meetup host registers a settlement account, the account number passes through our server on its way to the payment provider, but we do not store it — all that remains is the last four digits, shown so you can tell which account it is. We do not hold the money either: it goes from the payment provider to the host.

2. What we do not collect

• Legal name, Google profile photo
• Email — never from Google sign-in. Only from ID/password sign-up, and only for account recovery (section 1)
• Date of birth, nationality, passport number — not even when booking. Note: "the country you are travelling to" in section 1 is a destination, not your nationality. We never ask which country you are from. Note also: "your language levels" in section 1 is not nationality either — someone can be a native speaker of Korean without holding Korean nationality, and we do not infer nationality from that value
• Precise location (coordinates) — we do not store it. Tapping "Find near me" does send the coordinates to the server at that moment, but we round them down to district level, use them and discard them, leaving no record. The most precise location we store on your account is your district of interest

3. Why we use it

• Signing you in
• Showing events, performances and shops in your language
• Messaging between users, and bookings
• Delivering disaster alerts
• Handling reports and restricting abuse
• Statistics for improving the service, in a form that does not identify anyone
• Preparing guidance for the country you travel to. Note: Korea is the only country we cover today, so this value does not change anything on your screen yet. We use it to decide where to build guidance next
• Collecting what you marked into your Saved interests so you can find it again, and showing a like count on posts. We use it for nothing else: not to choose advertising, and we do not show other users what you marked
• Showing the language levels you state to other users — on your profile, in club member lists and on suggested-friend cards. Note: this happens only if your account is public. If it is private, we do not pass them to other users at all
• Not showing you the same ad more times in a day than the limit we set, and working out what to bill the advertiser — we use the record of ads you saw for those two things only. Advertisers see daily totals, never who saw what; we do not show it to other users, and we do not pass it on
• Showing the self-introduction and external links you wrote to other users. You choose who can see them (everyone / followers only / only me); if you do not choose, it is followers only. We do not pass them to anyone outside that range at all, and we do not use them to choose recommendations or advertising. Note: external links are not places we have checked, and tapping one takes you outside the app
• Taking payment for paid-meetup fees, and handling cancellations, refunds and payouts to the host

4. How long we keep it

A conversation is not yours alone. Erasing your messages from someone else's screen would leave their record incoherent, so we remove who sent them and leave the bubbles.

Deleting your account does not cancel bookings. A held seat is not released automatically — please cancel it separately.

Below are the companies we have entrusted with part of the work. Protecting your data stays our responsibility.

6. Where data goes outside Korea

Our visitors come from abroad, so we spell this out.

What you write is never sent to machine translation. It would be convenient, and it would also send your sentences to a company abroad. We chose not to.

That lookup returns only a country and region name, and we remember its result for one day so that we do not ask about the same address twice within a day. The access log itself, including the IP address, stays on our servers as the "Automatic" item in section 1 describes.

Some of what you write does go outside Korea (to DeepSeek, in China). There are three kinds.

(a) Cases where other people's words go too — we ask you separately. These are the chat helper, and drafting a shop review from a meetup conversation. The words of anyone who did not agree are left out. Everything else works exactly the same if you refuse.

(b) Cases you asked for at that moment — the screen tells you there. Asking the support desk (your question as written), turning a report into a review, and filling in an ad's text or poster with AI. It goes out only to carry out the request you tapped, and we do not separately store what was sent.

(c) Things you published — it is written on the screen where you write them. A shop review you post publicly is read by an AI that sets that shop's star rating. The same notice appears on the review-writing screen. Reviews from private accounts and hidden reviews are not read.

If you want to change that choice later, tell our support desk. Turn it off and the helper stops reading your messages from that moment; turn it on and it reads them again. Deleting your account removes the consent along with it.

7. Your rights

You may ask to see, correct or delete your data, to stop its processing, or to close your account. Closing the account is available in the app; for the rest, write to the contact below.

The service is not for children under 14.

8. Cookies

You can clear or block cookies in your browser. We use no advertising or tracking cookies.

9. How we protect it

• Sign-in tokens are stored only as hashes — the original never rests on the server
• A new token is issued at every sign-in
• Traffic is encrypted in transit
• Third-party service keys stay on the server and are never sent to the browser
• Access rights are separated
