A Korean department store is somewhere to eat and rest, not only to shop. A rainy or very hot day can be spent entirely inside one.
Cara memilih
The first basement floor is almost always a food hall: side dishes, bakery, fruit, ready-made meals, and often seating. It isn’t cheap, but it is the fastest way to see the range of Korean food in one place.
The top floor is usually restaurants and a cinema. You buy on the way up and eat at the top.
Tax refund — at some shops you show your passport and the VAT comes off on the spot; otherwise you keep the receipts and claim at the refund desk inside the store, or at the airport before you fly. Ask at the till which one applies.
This is not a duty-free shop. Duty-free is for people leaving the country, and the goods are sometimes handed over at the airport. A department store you buy from and walk out with — which is why the map keeps them as separate categories.
Large malls have several entrances, and many connect straight to a subway station.
Some information desks hand out discount coupons for foreign visitors. Asking costs nothing.
