These are small shops that do nothing but change money — not banks. They cluster where visitors are, above all in Myeongdong and Namdaemun.
Cara memilih
Many give a better rate than a bank, because they take no separate commission and earn on the spread instead. Rates differ from shop to shop, though — read the boards outside two or three of them before you choose.
Cash only. No cards, no bank transfers, and you are paid in cash too.
Bring your passport. Depending on the amount and the shop’s own policy, they will ask to see identification.
Unlike banks, many open at weekends. In exchange they close early in the evening.
The clustering in Myeongdong and Namdaemun is not an accident — these are long-established shops, and having several side by side is what makes comparing easy.
Sebelum pergi Changing money at the airport is convenient but usually worse than in the city. Many people change just enough for the trip into town and do the rest downtown.
