Currency exchange and ATMs
Cards work almost everywhere, but traditional markets and street stalls need cash.
- Exchange money at banks and government-registered exchange offices. The day's rate is posted on the board at the door.
- Foreign cards withdraw cash at machines marked "Global ATM" — common in convenience stores and subway stations.
- Some bank ATMs take no foreign cards. Check the signage first.
- Traditional markets, street-food stalls, and some small shops take cash only.
⚠ Avoid unregistered street money changers — they are illegal, and if something goes wrong there is no recourse.
