The tale
Ssanghwajeom is a song of the Goryeo period.
Its words survive in the Akjang Gasa collection.
It runs through four scenes: a dumpling shop, a temple, a well and a tavern.
Each scene repeats the same frame of a rumour spreading.
The Goryeosa describes the song as a song of love between man and woman.
