Card meaning
Upright - someone goes into the water so that another may see. Today's price is high, and it is paid for someone else.
Reversed - do the arithmetic before promising three hundred sacks of rice.
The tale
Sim Cheong lives with her blind father.
To open his eyes she promises three hundred sacks of offering rice.
She sells herself to sailors and throws herself into the Indangsu waters.
She returns borne in a lotus flower and becomes queen.
At a feast she meets her father and his eyes open.
