The tale

A woodcutter follows a deer's advice and hides a bathing fairy's feathered robe.

Unable to return to the sky, she lives with the woodcutter.

After children are born he gives the robe back.

She takes the children in her arms and rises to the sky.

In some versions the woodcutter follows her up in a well bucket.
