The Old Man with the Lump

Card meaning

Upright - the song does not come from the lump. What is paid for is the skill, not the rumour.

Reversed - go to the same spot twice and you come back with two lumps.

The card meanings are a game.

The tale

An old man with a lump on his jaw spends a night in the hills and sings.

Dokkaebi ask him where the song comes from.

He answers that it comes from the lump, and they buy the lump from him.

Another old man with a lump hears this and copies him.

The dokkaebi realise the trick and attach one more lump to him.
