نبذة
Myeong-dong is a space reminiscent of a massive shopping city. Generally, Myeong-dong Street refers to the approximately 1 km stretch from Myeong-dong Station on Subway Line 4 to Euljiro and Lotte Department Store. This area is densely packed with various brand stores, department stores, and boutique shops. Fitting the description of a fashion mecca, it offers a wide range of products such as clothing, shoes, and accessories for purchase. Nearby department stores include Lotte Department Store and Shinsegae Department Store, while shopping malls like Noon Square, Myeong-dong Migliore, and M Plaza are located on Myeong-dong Street. Various brand shops are concentrated along the central street and side alleys. In addition to shopping, Myeong-dong offers plenty of food and entertainment options. Dining choices range from family restaurants and fast-food outlets to Korean, Western, and Japanese cuisine. Furthermore, Myeong-dong is equipped with numerous convenience facilities such as hair salons, banks, and theaters. Major tourist attractions in Myeong-dong include Myeong-dong Cathedral (명동성당), the main parish building of the Archdiocese of Seoul of the Catholic Church in Korea, Myeong-dong Arts Theater (명동예술극장), which was opened after restoring the former National Theater of Korea, and the Cartoon Street.
